About Cara Murphy

Cara Murphy concentrates her practice in white-collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation. She joined Libby Hoopes Brooks as a paralegal and was promoted to Associate Attorney after admittance to the Massachusetts Bar.

Cara’s experience includes assisting in internal investigations, multiple trials and arbitrations. Cara frequently works on electronic discovery matters in civil cases, acting as a liaison between clients, and vendors to create and maintain document review platforms to assist in the review and production phases of discovery. 

Cara’s trial experience includes a second-degree murder; a federal conspiracy and misbranding case; a federal securities action; and a state animal abuse. She has also assisted in several arbitrations including an employment and contract dispute.

Cara graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2021. She is a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. She graduated magna cum laude from Bentley University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in International Studies and minors in Business and Law. She obtained a paralegal certificate from Boston University in 2013. 

Cara received an Excellence in the Law award, given by the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2017 for paralegal work.
